Creations by Lourd Ramos Salon Review (+ My New Hairdo!)

As mentioned in my previous post, I clearly haven’t organized the photos of the makeup + swatches yet, so my first “serious” post would be on the new hairdo I got because it’s been days yet I still can’t get over how I finally got the hair color that I wanted, probably due to the fact that it finally appeared the way I wanted it to! Apparently the only trick was to get my hair “cleansed” prior to colouring—by cleansing, I mean bleaching. Aaahh I’m so happy!

Getting my hair "cleansed"..!

Post-bleached hair! The cleansing solution wasn't left in for too long because it would turn my hair into platinum blonde.

I got my hair dyed to medium ash blonde… or something. I’m not really sure because I just chose a lock of hair from the hair color swatch book of Davines and showed my stylist Jhear (pronounced as J.R.) a photo of Sofia Vergara where the top hue of her hair was what I wanted, then he mixed two colours in order to get my hair to come out the way I wanted it to.

I wanted just the top portion—a perfect ash—of her ombre hair.

I wanted just the top darker portion—a medium light ash—of her ombre hair, but a shade or two darker because I wasn’t sure if I could pull it off. Lighter next time with the blonde highlights, maybe!

It was the second time I got my hair done at Creations by Lourd Ramos Salon (One Archers, Taft Ave. branch) and all I can say is that I made the right choice to pledge my loyalty to this place. I hadn’t stuck to one salon ever since my stylist Flo from Bench Fix Alabang Town Center moved to Bench Fix SM Mall of Asia and it was such a pain to keep on experimenting with different salons and stylists, so you can only imagine how relieved I felt when I got out of Creations with so much satisfaction the first time around!

End product!

Hair cleansing + hair color + hair treatment + hair cut = results!

Can you see my happy girl grin (and the reason behind it, ehem my greenish grey tresses)..? 😀

The ends of my hair kind of look brown here but it’s just due to the lighting.

I didn’t initially plan on making this post a review so I wasn’t able to take photos of the salon itself (I will the next time), but here’s a breakdown of my rating for the salon, followed by the explanations for each criteria:

Price value: 5.0/5.0
Venue: 5.0/5.0
Staff hospitality: 5.0/5.0
Quality of service: 4.5/5.0
Customer satisfaction: 5.0/5.0
TOTAL: 4.9/5.0

The price value criterion is not exactly about how much I spent on the services I availed—its main focus is how worth the price the service I got was, and I gave it a full 5 out of 5 for the following reasons:

(1) they were offering a promo wherein you only pay Php1,500.00
for hair color and treatment, for hair of ANY length;
They used to offer it with a free hair cut (that’s the deal I got back then), but still… where else can you find a steal deal like that, that actually delivers? Also, what’s an additional Php300.00 if the haircut quality is excellent?

(2) the hair cleansing or bleaching was only Php1,500.00;
It may seem like a large amount at first glance, but if you compare their price listing to other salons that offer hair cleansing, you’ll get what I mean!

(3) I spent a total of ONLY Php3,300.00 for hair bleaching, color, treatment, and cut;
They used Cynos for the hair bleaching and L’Oreal for both the color and treatment. I forgot the exact names of the products, though (sorry!). With expensive products like those + hair length like mine (I had layered hair that cut down to a V shape around 2-3 inches past bra length) + quality service, I sure got major bang for my buck!

The venue criterion tackles the accessibility, cleanliness, ambiance, and spaciousness of the salon, and I also gave it a 5 out of 5 since the place was very neat, just of the right temperature, well laid out (they had separate areas for multiple services), and of course, just right beside DLSU-M! Can’t get any more convenient for me than that.

The staff hospitality criterion is about how welcoming and friendly the salon staff are, regardless of whether you will be paying for a truckload of services or just a blow-dry. I gave it a 5.0/5.0 once more because everyone was extra nice to me and my friend, Juslyn (who got a manicure, pedicure, haircut, and treatment BTW), and even to my boyfriend and our other friend who went to the salon to pick us up around 20 minutes before I was done. They entertained every question I asked (and I’m the type to ask a lot—product name, brand, why it’s being done, what’s being done right now, etc.) with pleasure and they never gave off the snooty vibe wherein the customer would feel awkward talking to the friend he or she brought, out of discomfort that he or she would be judged as “classless.” Heck, my stylist even offered to lend me his charger because he overheard me saying my phone was almost dead!

The quality of service criterion is about how everything claimed by the stylist and the price list was actually delivered, along with the overall excellence that can be clearly seen in the end results. I gave it a 4.5 out of 5.0 only for one reason: because when my hair was already being blown-dry post bleach, color, treatment, and cut, I noticed a small portion of my hair (by small portion, I mean an inch long and around half an inch thick) from the root that appeared of a different color (the small portion was almost black while everything else appeared ash as I wanted it to). I brought this up to my stylist and he said it would fade out after another wash or two, to the extent that it would blend in completely with the rest of my hair. Mm, we’ll see! I’d have gotten it re-colored or re-washed, but it was already past 5PM then and we’d been there since around 2PM and we were starving already.

Lastly, the customer satisfaction criterion is rated according to how happy I was after my salon trip, and naturally I gave it a perfect score of 5.0 out of 5.0 since I was ecstatic about how I finally got the hair color I’ve been pining for since God-knows-when (Jhear said it would fade to a shade that’s a little lighter after around 10 washes, though—I hope the vibrancy of the ash tone still remains)..! I was also extremely satisfied that my stylist did everything I asked him to do to my hair—because duh, don’t we all hate it when we pay a large sum for our hair maintenance and we don’t even end up looking the way we wanted to prior to entering the salon? 😛

…all in all, totals to a 4.9/5.0 salon rating, meaning I am definitely coming back to Creations by Lourd Ramos Salon. I hope their quality of service and price value don’t ever change for the worse! It’s always so disappointing when a good establishment falls apart because of not-well-thought-of changes.

I hope my incredibly long review served its purpose! Check back soon for updates. 😀
